I am looking for a new insurance agent to represent my small business. Do agents receive any type of compensation from brokers?

Yes, most agents receive some commission from the broker that they represent, based on how much the broker sells or how much the agent earns for selling or arranging coverage for other clients. However, this is not true for all agents or brokers. Some insurance agents and brokers decide to work pro bono with no remuneration.
